Global Industrial and Richard Childress Racing teamed up in Daytona to raise awareness for K9s For Warriors’ Station Dog Program, highlighting its work supporting Veterans and first responders.
As part of the initiative, RCR driver Austin Hill visited the Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety to meet Hunter, the department’s Station Dog and Emotional Support Animal. Hunter joined the department through K9s For Warriors in 2021 and provides companionship and comfort to first responders, while also participating in community events and visits to a local elementary school.
The partnership also extended to the racetrack, with the K9s For Warriors logo featured on Hill’s No. 21 Global Industrial Chevrolet race car during the Winn-Dixie 250 Powered by Coca-Cola on August 28, bringing the organization’s mission to NASCAR fans and the broader racing community.
“This partnership brings together the power of our relationships, our resources and our shared commitment to making a difference,” said Anesa Chaibi, Chief Executive Officer of Global Industrial Company. “We’re proud to partner with RCR to shine a light on the important work K9s For Warriors does for Veterans and first responders, and to help bring their mission to even more people.”
“Our fan base is loyal and passionate about supporting organizations that are making a difference in the communities we visit,” said Hill, driver of the No. 21 Global Industrial Chevrolet. “Through Global Industrial’s charitable initiative, I’ve been able to meet multiple K9s and their companions who have directly been impacted by K9s For Warriors. Getting to meet Hunter was a meaningful experience and it was cool to see firsthand how the Station Dog Program benefits first responders.”
The Daytona events build on Global Industrial’s ongoing relationship with K9s For Warriors through the Company’s Partnerships With Purpose initiative. As part of that relationship, Global Industrial is donating multiple sets of outdoor patio furniture to K9s For Warriors’ Florida residential training facilities, where Warriors meet, train and bond with their Service Dogs. The furniture will create comfortable, welcoming spaces where Warriors and their dogs can spend time together throughout the training program, helping strengthen the bond that will carry into life after graduation. Global Industrial also provided space on the No. 21 Global Industrial Chevrolet race car to feature the K9s For Warriors logo at Daytona.
K9s For Warriors is best known for providing trained Service Dogs to military Veterans living with PTSD, traumatic brain injury and other service-related trauma at no financial cost to the Veteran. Through its Station Dog Program, the organization also places trained therapy dogs with law enforcement and first responder agencies at no cost. The organization has placed more than 100 therapy dogs with agencies across the country since the Station Dog Program began in 2021.
“Station Dogs play a unique role in helping create a healthier, more supportive environment for first responders,” said Lindsay Grayson, Chief Revenue Officer at K9s For Warriors. “Station Dog Hunter’s story is a great example of the connection these dogs can build and the difference they can make. We’re grateful to Global Industrial and RCR for helping us bring greater visibility to this important part of our mission.”
“Hunter has become an important part of our department’s overall health and wellness program and brings a unique level of support to our team every day,” said Mandy Nice, Health and Wellness Coach with the Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety. “He expands our wellness efforts by bringing a mental and emotional wellness component through his role as an emotional support animal, providing comfort, connection and a positive presence for our officers when they need it most.”
