SAN DIEGO, CA, UNITED STATES, October 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — GALT Aerospace announced a transition within its executive leadership team as the company continues to grow its capabilities, programs and support to the warfighter.
Founder John Kohut will transition from Chief Executive Officer to Executive Chairman of the Board, where he will remain actively involved in GALT’s long-term vision and direction. Dave Webb, who has served as GALT’s President and Chief Operations Officer since 2025, will become President and Chief Executive Officer. Paul Shew has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer, adding experienced operational leadership as GALT expands its programs and production capabilities.
Kohut co-founded GALT in 2015 with a straightforward mission: build a company capable of solving difficult operational problems quickly and getting meaningful capability into the hands of the warfighter. Over the past decade, GALT has grown that mission into a portfolio of advanced command, control and communications solutions supporting customers across the U.S. military.
“I co-founded GALT to solve difficult mission challenges with the speed and focus our warfighters deserve,” said Kohut. “What this team has built over the last decade is something I’m incredibly proud of. Dave understands our mission, our customers and where we are headed. I’m looking forward to continuing to support him, our team and the broader GALT platform as Executive Chairman.”
Kohut brings a 27-year U.S. Navy career as an F-14 Naval Flight Officer, flight test officer and acquisition leader, including leadership roles supporting the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) and Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) programs. That combination of operational, acquisition and industry experience has shaped GALT’s approach from the beginning: stay close to the user, move quickly and deliver capability that works.
Webb joined GALT in January 2025 and has played a central role in strengthening the company’s operations and preparing the business for continued expansion. He brings more than 30 years of aerospace and defense experience across program management, product development and business strategy, including executive roles at Cobham, CAES and Honeywell and earlier leadership positions at Raytheon.
“John built GALT around a culture of solving real problems for the warfighter, and that remains at the center of who we are,” said Webb. “We have a strong team, proven capabilities and customers with increasingly complex mission needs. I’m excited about where we are headed and honored to lead the company through this next chapter.”
As Chief Operating Officer, Shew will work alongside Webb and the executive team to lead operational execution, strengthen business processes and support GALT’s growing portfolio of programs and customers. Shew brings more than 30 years of aerospace and defense experience, with additional information about his background to be announced separately.
The leadership transition builds on a period of significant growth for GALT, including Godspeed Capital’s strategic investment earlier this year. The partnership is supporting GALT’s continued investment in advanced command, control and communications technologies, production capacity and the infrastructure needed to deliver mission capability at greater scale.
GALT’s executive leadership team also includes Kristyn Molina, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Legal Officer, and Jeff Lloyd-Jones, Vice President, Growth and Strategy. Molina has been part of GALT since its inception and leads the company’s operations support team in addition to its legal functions. Lloyd-Jones joined GALT in 2025 to lead growth and strategy following 22 years of U.S. Navy service and subsequent defense industry leadership.
“GALT has built an experienced leadership team that understands both the mission and what it takes to scale a defense technology business,” said Mike Roualet, Principal at Godspeed Capital. “John’s continued involvement, Dave’s leadership and the operational and strategic depth across the team position GALT well for what comes next.”
